This seat was a commission for a couple and
their family but sited at Buchan Country Park for public benefit.
It was carved in Green Oak from 7
separate pieces, which were bolted and pegged together on site. It
is 1.4m high. It was installed in 2005

These photos show how it has weathered
over the subsequent years. There is very little splitting and the
green colour helps to highlight the form. There has been no graffiti
as the surface texture is tool marked and patterned, yet there is always
a certain amount of general vandalism at the site due to its public
nature and proximity to housing estates.

To commission similar would be £5,000
